Beautiful Suits to Wear For An Elopement or Engagement Session

One of my favorite aspects of this industry is that it is always changing and no two weddings are exactly the same. It’s incredible to be part of a growing and evolving industry filled with creativity, personality, and positive energy.

The dress. One of the first things I thought about when Michael and I started talking about getting married was my dress. My dress, in particular, is a story for another day. But let me just tell you, whatever style you end up going with, make sure it’s one that you feel 1000% confident in.

Absolutely no shame if you end up going for the classic choices: lace, satin, tulle, mermaid, train, beading..you get it. But all power to you if you go the non-traditional route! I keep seeing more and more non-traditional bridal wear showing up and I’m really excited about it. But the one look I’m particularly excited about is seeing brides in pantsuits and jumpsuits. While I opted for something on the super feminine side (beading, tulle, cap sleeves), I love seeing strong women in a look that has such a confidence to it. I think pant suits and jumpsuits used to be classified as casual, but that is no longer the case! Accessorized in the right way, a pant suit is just as dressy as a gown. And if you’re reading this and now wondering how to accessorize, I will be doing a future journal post all about insanely beautiful bridal accessories.

I think a suit or jumpsuit would be beautiful for a courthouse elopement or destination elopement. I also think they are perfect for engagement session! A nod to a wedding gown, formal, elegant, and so refined.

SUITS & JUMPSUITS:

  1. This jumpsuit has such a gorgeous shape and I love how the material is so structured, giving it a more formal look.

  2. A formal, lace option that is incredibly stunning, so delicate and feminine. I love the way the lace lays on the sleeves and pant legs. And the neckline is incredible.

  3. This jumpsuit would be perfect for an engagement session. The tie on the waist makes it so flattering.

  4. This soft pink suit is amazing.

  5. I can’t get over the buttons on this jacket.

  6. This jacket reminds me of the jacket Leanne Barlow made for September as part of her Monthly Dress Tour.

  7. Crisp white. The pants are good too.

  8. I love these fitted pants. The crop is such a good length.

  9. If Rouland Mouret is good enough for my girl, Kelly Ripa, Rouland Mouret is good enough for me.

  10. This pinstripe duo is amazing!! I love the lines and pleats on the pants!

  11. This casual jumpsuit would be perfect for a beach engagement session. This one, too!

  12. How gorgeous is the neckline on this one!

If you’re thinking about non-traditional bridal wear, whether it be jumpsuits or a colored gown, I can’t wait to capture you in it! So excited to be photographing beautiful weddings this year and seeing all of the beautiful details that my couples choose.
